I originally followed the link from the council website, which then prompted me to log in to the My Ealing portal thing (or whatever it's called - maybe that is Ealing 24/7) and the fly-tipping report system sent me an email confirmation from 'Love Clean Streets'. Then the email notification of the completed (yet not actually done) job came from Ealing 24/7. All a bit confusing. So then I tweeted them last night and spoke to Mrs Stroppy Pants at the council this morning. I got a twitter response saying they would look into it so I'm guessing it was that rather than the rude council woman opening another case that got the job done. I think the only time I've ever got the council to respond to anything has been by following up my followups with tweets - seems you have to put everything in triplicate for this council. From visitor parking permit issues to missed collections to reporting rubbish etc nothing seems to be straightforward with this council and the stuff they come out with when you then waste even more of your time trying to phone them is either ludicrous nonsense or plain lies... "oh the contractor was confused by so much information" (idiots)... "they are running late with the collection this week" (never came)... "your bin was not presented" (yes it was they just didn't bother to take it). I never had an issue when I lived in LBHF... ahhh the good old days. I've had bins not taken for 3+ weeks because of the useless Amey or whoever it is they use who keep missing bins despite them being right in front of the boundary - also what's really infuriating is when they return your empty wheelie bin and place it right in front of your green food bin and then that doesn't get emptied because they can't see it! Useless numpties!! I do feel for the people who don't have smartphones because you are right - the system doesn't work and I do think tweeting them directly is the only way to get your voice heard.
