Oaks Shopping Centre

I was told some time ago that M and S had backed out of opening a food store in the Oaks Centre. I believe a Gym should be taking up quite a bit of space unless they have changed their minds since last December.

In the 2nd picture (left hand side) you can see what looks like sets of wavey metal work.I remember someone saying long ago that they were replaced in the plans by the current painted stuff because it was thought that the proposed finish would end up being squatted on by birds who traces would be obvious and potentially be a problem if people had open windows (I don't know if those open).

I asked the guy handing out leafets this morning when the gym was opening and he said "mid July at the same time as Lidl, Iceland, Wilko, Starbucks and M&S Food."

M&S pulled out a long time ago.  They had a news story saying no more stores opening anywhere for the present.

I think we would all have fainted if M & S actually took up residence, Acton is hardly their demographic is it? It was always a con of some sort, I thought Actonians were a wake up to LBE & Developers promises by now?Now yer Aldi, LIDL, Wilko, Various Pound Shops, Sports Direct etc, that's more like it - yes, I shop at these if they're available. M & S stupidly expensive.  :-)
