Post office to be ‘luxury’ flats

So just walked past the old post office, and surprise, surprise more ‘luxury’ flats are coming. What I don’t understand is the amount of unsold flats there are and developers continue to build. I’m not adverse to progress but what would attract anyone to live here when the high street is such a dump. The whole high street needs major investment and a massive overhaul, where is the investment in the area and community?

Another vote for a view of the graveyard. And not far to go when you pop your clogs.

A bit off track . But I love the view of the pretty grave yard as I  travel up or down the escalator from the car park  with my shopping . Now spring is here,  it will be even more attractive.

Yes please, graveyard over a road, thanks. If you want a better high st you'd better move to the 1970s, they are dying and unless they reinvent themselves it will only accelerate. Churchfield road is doing ok though and has some nice shops and Uxbridge road Bush side is thriving. Maybe focus on what we have than what we haven't got??

i agree that the Graveyard is really lovely and i too would be happy to look out at it. Very peaceful.

I don't agree that a view of the graveyard isn't attractive.I'd be perfectly happy to have that as a view rather than that of Acton high street - -I actually think it's rather nice.Carl

I've observed one flat with lights on in the evening at the Oaks flats facing onto Churchfield Road.  Both the flats at the Oaks and the flats opening above the old post office have a view of a graveyard.  The post office flats will have the market straight outside their door, and no lights  (not when I walked past Morrison's) switched on the Mount at night, so a struggle if you're new to the area.  Not sure if they have parking planned around the back or not, but if not - where will they park? Flats being built on the High Street (where the Thai restaurant used to be), and houses for rent built on the site of the old undertakers on Alfred Road seem empty?  If you're spending the money these flats are going for, do you really want your view to be a graveyard or the High Street?
