When it all went wrong for Acton.
Note the date, oh how fortuitous .........Acton Council ceased to exist on 1 April 1965, when the former Municipal Borough of Acton was abolished and merged with the municipal boroughs of Ealing and Southall to create the present-day London Borough of Ealing. This reorganization was carried out under the London Government Act 1963 as part of the creation of Greater London.A few related dates:1964: The new Ealing council was elected and operated as a "shadow authority" while the old councils still existed.1 April 1965: The new Ealing council formally took over, and the councils of Acton, Ealing, and Southall were abolished. So if by "Acton Council" you mean the borough council that governed Acton, it became part of Ealing Council on 1 April 1965
