Sizzling Authentic Indian Cuisine opening soon 2008

Dear localers,I have mentioned this topic before in mid October, I would just like to refresh and remind everyone again.Firstly,I would like to thanks everyone who kindly participated for the 'Indian Take-away on Churchfield Road' survey that I did mid October and November (You know who you are) This means a lot to me, i really appreciate the time you had given me in the cold weather outsidefor the survey questions.I WILL BE OUT AGAIN THIS WEEK ON CHURCHFIELD ROAD, I HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE I am pleased to tell you that I am opening the Authentic Indian Takeaway near the Rocket pub very soon. We wil be totally focued and dedicated on authentic traditional indian food. I am a member of Churchfield Commnity Association - I will give special invitations to the organisation once we start up.I need everyones help before anything. I am finding it difficult to choose a 'eye catchy' name. What do you think of these belowEmpire of IndiaIndian EmpireAnokha Indian Cuisine (Anokha means unusual)Acton Karahi (Karahi is a speacial frying pan to cook indian dishes)I will be more than happy to hear any suggestions from anyoneThis will be Actons finest exotic & Authentic Indian & delivery services, purely dedicated to authentic curry dishes only, set in a contemporary atmosphere with friendly serviceKindest regardsIftekar Rahman

Good luck I can't wait to visit. For what it's worth. The Empire names seem old fashioned and has been used a lot by other restaurants.My suggestion would be to call it'Anokha'. It's an snappy modern sounding name, implying unusual and as you say means unusual. and you could always subtitle it with 'Authentic Indian Cuisine'.

AnoKHI Sarees Surat, Gujarat (India) is a noteworthy manufacturer, exporter, designer and supplier of sarees, wedding sarees, printed sarees etc...But AnoKHA means (nusual/unique)

Rahman's Empire would have been an perfect name for a big retaurant with eating in facility...my place would be a Take away & delivery service...EMPIRE sounds great...but im looking for another word to go with EMPIREThank you very much

Wait, I've got it. It's next to The Rocket, so why not a space/spice pun? e.g. The Spiceship, The Spice Rice, Outer Spice, The Spiceman, The Spice Station, Spiced Out, Kevin Spicey etc.?

I think the earlir suggestion of "Anokha" the subtitle of 'Authentic Indian Cuisine' sounds best. I think if you are making proper indian food then you should sell this as I find this a real positive as it differentiates a restaurant from other similar types.I often go to an Indian restaurant near Swiss Cottage which is v traditional as well and the different in the menu is clear.The one ingredient I love in an Indian or other meal is spinich so are you likely to create one meal with spinish in it?

I can't find your shop. I invited 22 of my friends for an exotic indian treat and we ended up with shish kebab. Has it sizzeld out or have you gone to bangledesh. Wait a minute - there must be another churchfield road? Or it could be that you've opened a pound shop instead. Can anyone help?

The Tandoori Centre is as it has been for years, can't see any signs of it being re-done. Was wondering what had happened????Wasn't there a posting a while back when someone also said they were looking into opening a deli on Churchfield rd and asked for peoples views, it never happened (and no this wasn't Vanilla)

Straight from the horses mouth - as they say. knowing the actual owner of the property - had't paid any dosh up front for the lease etc. Hence "sizzling has fizzeld out.

Hello Iftekar,When we last spoke (sometime last year on Churchfield road) I seem to remember you saying that you will be opening a restaurant? Will you have the facilities to eat in or will you just have a take away? Oh and I like the name ‘Anokha Indian Cuisine’ Lucy

This seems to be have been on a slow burn but apparently "Anokha" indian restuarant will open on the site of the tandoori takeaway in Churchfield Road in about a fortnight...certainly lots of activity there this week.Have no idea if there is any connection with the chap who was going to do it about three years ago when this thread was current
