Yet another Betting Shop in Acton High Street.

Walking past the vacant outlet next to Lloyds TSB,I saw a notice in the widow for an application for yes you have guessed it another Betting Shop.This is now getting stupid we are going to have more gambling joints than ordinary shops at this rate.

I don't believe it!!!!!!! Sorry to sound like Victor Meldrew but honestly this really is taking things a bit too far! Why on heaven's name do we yet another betting shop in Acton High Street?I think there are more than enough betting shops in this area already thank's very much!What do you bet that they will get the 'go-ahead' though?There are so many other types of shop that we need in Acton.

Could the Council please have removed the illegal A board placed on the pavement outside the cafe.  It is a danger for the blind and disabled.

A-board on pavement - is the entire pavement public highway? - the different surfacing suggests possibly the inside yard-and-a-bit might not be. There are sometimes studs in the pavement showing where the pavement that is private land ends, but not always and possibly not here.On the betting shop front, they are quite hard to oppose.With banks being practically casinos with our money, maybe Lloyds will merge with its neighbour.

I see it ended up becoming a Betfred shop.I was talking to a friend about this the other day, wondering whether there is anywhere else in the country with no less than 7 different betting shops (all different brands) within a couple of hundred metres of each other.At least there seem to be few options left for new ones, with probably only Bet365 and Stan James the only companies yet to get in on the act....  :)

I occasionally see punters in William Hill but the others never look very populated. One does wonder how they make a profit.

We've had two Totes in Acton before (Churchfield Road & High St) but perhaps this means we could have two Betfreds... or maybe one of them would close?
