Chimney Sweep!

Does anyone know of one in Acton/Ealing/Chiswick. We had it done last year but it cost £70! Does anyone know of a good one (relatively cheap!)Thanks

£70 is probably the going rate. My best friend is a chimney sweep outside London, and he charges nearly that.

Nelson. 0208 9024707. I think he will be about £50, plus the older experienced sweeps have all the knowledge about air currents and chimneys.

If you're worried about the cost, does your chimney really need cleaning if it was done last year?  How often do you use it and what do you burn?

We had a very well known company called Vines do ours when we had a new fireplace put in a few years ago - but we don't get them done regularly as we don't have fires very often, can't remember what they charged.

Hello,Further to the other posts recommending Nelson, I would like to add my name to the list of satisfied customers.  Nelson cleaned my chimney yesterday after I called him having seen his number here; he charged me much less than some of the figures I've seen quoted here, was polite, efficient and I was thoroughly pleased with the service.  I am sat typing this in front of a roaring wood and coal fire and would recommend it to anyone!Cheers
