Opticians at bottom of horn lane

Popped in there a couple of weeks ago as i thought i had a contact lense stuck. the optician investiagated there and then and didn't request payment (even though i offered). Thought it was really nice of him.

I have recently got a pair of glasses there (Robert Lynch) and I was very impressed by the service and price.

We as a family have been using Dave ( the optician) at Robert Lynch for many many years now and have always been more than satisfied. Pleasant experienced staff, great choice of glasses including designer frames but without the designer prices often seen in the High Streets these days.......Throughly recommeneded......and local !!

I too recommend Robert Lynch, friendly and helpful ( Hi Lucy!) who, I think, has been there over 30 years or so. I'm sure the shop is in Pete Townsends "Stardom in Acton" music video but that would be another thread!

No Ellie, I think you will find Poore's are the oldest family run business in Acton - been here over 200 years I believe! Even after their forced move from the High Street when Safeway's (now Morrison's) was built, they have continued trading in Acton, down at Colville Road.

I much prefer to use Poors to Homebase. The staff in there are always really friendly and I always get tips from the lady who looks after the plants.

At Poore's? Yes quite big...go half way through the store and turn right. It's very seasonal and not mass-produced but the quality is good.And the plant manager is fab.
