Mavis, if you live in a period property installing plastic windows is not a good idea. If you have wooden sash windows get them rennovated.......

Its just that the value of any Victorian/Edwardian property appears to be enhanced if you have wooden sash windows fitted.

I was asking on behalf of a friend of mine. His old wooden frames let in the cold and are not double glazed also the upvc are easily maintained and at his age he does not want the bother of having to paint wooden ones. I myself prefer wooden frames but we are not always in the position to chose.

www.henryandsons.co.uk did a good job on my back windows. Not expensive, quick, efficient and FENSA certificated.
