Conspiracy by the retailers of Acton ...

... to keep us from leaving the area today!No, not really.  But what with the District and Piccadilly lines down, the 207 diverted because of a fire in Ealing and the E3 experiencing 'delays of up to an hour' due to a burst water main in Greenford, all our attempts to go somewhere else for my husband's birthday were thwarted!Never mind, we had a lovely fish and chips at the George and Dragon.Not to mention a delicious coffee and cake in Lavelli Bakery on Saturday morning and a very special meal at the North China Saturday night.I guess that's 'shopping local' for you!

But equally successful in preventing outsiders from coming in - one book club member took an hour and three quarters from Putney....my Mum was stuck in a jam on the Uxbridge Road for ages...but at least Network Rail were actually doing some work on the closed Acton Central station.
