Marmoleum is just a brand of good old-fashioned linoleum. We have it in some rooms at work. It is remarkably hard-wearing, and doesn't scuff so easily as modern floor coverings becuase the colour runs all the way through, rather than just being on the surface. Don't know why it went out of fashion in the 1960s. A bit like unsliced bread, real lemonade, and offal perhaps?
