"I understand the council policy is that a vehicle parked by the owner's dropped kerb should not be booked, but I do not know what happens in practice"My neighbours have a dropped kerb with a white line, and I understand that they can park their own car on the line, or a car with their permission can park there, but if anybody else parks there, then that car is liable to get a parking fine and may be towed away, so I make sure I never park in front of a dropped kerb whether it has no line, a white line or a yellow line!We have a CPZ but this does not help at evenings and weekends we still have problems because of Jehovahs Witness church hall at the end of the road, whose attendees sometaimes take up all available spaces in the vicinity. Having the CPZ has helped with dumped cars though and people leaving their cars for a week or so and going to Heathrow from Acton Town!
