Growing in the community
I have spoken with some council tenants living in the high rise block in Trinity Way, Esst Acton. they would like to start a community growing area, and also share in a community orchard on the spacious, non used grounds around their tower block. Local councillors, they say, are not interested, and they have had no backing. Why not? In the East End there is plenty of community growing around estates, and it has helped combat crime, drugs and other modern social problems. Local and national elections are coming.
