Anyone else having Freeview problems?

We seem to be having problems today - half the channels are saying 'no or bad signal'.  We have retuned several times and it isn't finding them.Wondered if this was a local problem?Alternatively it might be the workmen in my block taking out the lift.

Does your block have a common aerial?  If so, it might have been moved or blocked by work at the top of the lift shaft.

Just checked my Freeview channels, and for some reason I wasn't getting the BBC channels, but have done a rescan and they're all back now.  Total 58 TV channels detected.I guess you get your Freeview signal from Crystal Palace, as I do, so it must be a local problem at your end.

We have to have a booster even though we are up on the hill in Messaline Avenue; this is partly because we have sockets in every room, 7 in all but not all in use.

Where I live we used to have a communal arial which gave a great picture on all the Freeview channels, but since Jan 2010 I have not been able to get a signal, I called the Arial Services man out, and he spotted the problem straight away, my aerial cord was hanging about a metre from the roof.I informed my Landlords and have been waiting 4 months to get it fixed.I am not asking them for charity, I just want to know if they are going to fix it and when as I am paying a colour TV license for no signal.

We had problems last night. The BBC multiplex (bundle of channels) seemed to be a bit juddery. I tried a rescan this evening and it seems a bit better now. The Digital UK site seems to suggest analogue TV from Crystal Palace will suffer possible weak signal this week (it says week commencing 12th) but doesn't mention any problems for Freeview. The other problem could be atmospheric conditions due to the warm weather, or indeed volcanic ash in the air.

Fortunately when the Freeview goes tits up, we have Sky to fall back on, and vice versa!

We have our channels back now, so it may have been the lift.We do find the picture freezes a lot though.  Might be our aerial or a bad connection.

Gill, it can be something as simple as pushing the ariel firmly into the back of the telly and giving it a twist, or refitting the end bit, if it's old.
