If I may make a few suggestions which might be of help in the future, although not much help to those who have been a victim, but nevertheless these tips might help others. Do not keep your credit/debit cards/membership cards and so on in your handbag, and especially nothing with your home adress on it!Recently the Police were giving information away regarding safety etc in Ealing Broadway. My friend and I were given little bells on a keyring to attach to a purse or handbag.It can be very annoying on a handbag after a little while but I now have it on my purse, of course the bells can be heard each time I use the purse but it can make one aware should someone dip a hand in to try and steal it!I also prefer to have a handbag which can be worn across the body, rather than one with just a small handle. Make sure the bag is zipped at all times.Kipling bags are great in my opinion as they also have strong velcro fastenings which can be heard should someone try to open the bag! No, I have no connection with Kipling, just a great fan of their bags since my friend introduced me to them!Buy a small wallet which can be worn elsewhere, around the neck - inside clothing etc. Do not keep a lot of cash in a purse or handbag.Be very careful when using the hole in the wall cashpoints, if possible go into the bank rather than use the hole in the wall outside the bank! Some crooks put a mark on the back of a person they are taking money from these machines, their accomplice follows them and steals the cash!Keys should also not really be inside a handbag (problematic I know) but if the handbag is snatched then the thief will have access to your personal details and the key to your home. Some ladies carry their whole life in their handbags!Morrisons seems to be having a bad record with regard to stolen property and would appear not very sympathetic as their comments to Sara were most unhelpful.They should ensure that the CCTV actually works! Just putting a sign up warning customers to 'beware of pickpockets' is not really enough I'm afraid. It is such a hassle when cards are lost and traumatic to boot!My husband and I found a wallet once in Morrisons, fortunately we were able to locate the owner, met him outside So Asia and returned it intact! He obviously didn't expect to get it back as he had already cancelled his cards and so on!Some of the security guards seem to have an easy time of it, especially in The Oaks where they just appear to stand around chatting.More Police in and around these stores might help reduce this problem but sadly in this day and age one has to be constantly aware of pickpockets! I believe the bus stop outside Morrisons is yet another 'hot spot' for pickpockets!We have a lot of CCTV cameras everywhere but the chance of catching criminals seems to be reducing each year. Even IF thieves are caught nothing much happens, often they are free to carry on as normal after what ammounts to a slap on the wrist!The government keeps harping on and on about the level of crime decreasing - who would believe them? The evidence would suggest otherwise!
