Tories split over Toby style schools

According to the BBC website two council leaders have expressed concern as to the effect of Toby schools on LA funding for existing schools. Paul Carter, leader of Kent County Council, said funding parents to start their own "free schools" would threaten the budgets of other local schools. David Kirk - responsible for schools in Hampshire - said local authorities were better placed to improve schools. But shadow education secretary Michael Gove rejected any splits over policy.

I think Toby's school is not going to happen just like I have said all along. Paul Carter was talking sense and probably got a good kicking from Tory central office and had toe the party line.The country can't afford the Free school system and now the Tory head of the biggest education authority has just confirmed that.Go figure Toby.
