Acton Lane traffic

Over 200 cars bumper to bumper tonight trying to get from Chiswick up to Acton due to Gunnersbury Avenie closed northbound. (Luckily I was going the opposite way).But....for 10 days???!!! Thames Water - you're having a laugh!

My husband took over two hours to get home from Stoke d'Abernon last evening: A3 closed...parts of M25 blocked and then, to cap it all, Chiswick to Acton impassible.A family site won't allow me to describe his emotions upon his return.

I don't want to raise anyone's hopes unduly, but there's talk now of the road being re-opened tomorrow night. Guess the problem wasn't as bad as they feared.

The knock effect to the A4 on saturday was terrible as well but it seems the north circ. has re-opened (according to the BBC travel news site)

Why wouldn't you re-route traffic down Bollo Lane, instead of Acton Lane? Wasn't it because there were roadworks down Bollo Lane, too?

It's probably because the southern end of Bollo Lane is very narrow and there are 2 level crossings to negotiate.I was lucky enough to return from holiday up Bollo Lane on Saturday afternoon in complete ignorance of the problems in Gunnersbury Avenue!
