Jim Naughtie reporting from Acton High Street for BBC Radio 4

Who came across best?

Angie Bray came across as the most honest. Ball came across as a bland bull******er and the Labour geezer as stumblingly semi-articulate. But where were the other caodidates? -  as usual, kept out and gagged by the incurably pro-establishment Beeb.

Bassam door knocked me a week last Sunday, he was friendly, articulate and smartly dressed, hint of 'New Labour'. On the Power2010 website he supports 3 of the 5 pledges, Angie none, J Ball 4I suspect the LibDems have been under resourced in this seat, all I have had was the posted address and Jon Ball has had a very low profile. I think its Angie vs Bassam, time for tactical voting to keep the Ashcroft funded candidate out (and Cameron)

Ian's dead right about the funding. Even the BBC noted the shabbiness of the Labour battlebus compared with de luxe conditions on board with the Tories. Lib Dems have even less to spend.
