thank you for the poo

Thank you to the young man on Alfred Road with the very nice black and white border collie for marking your territory.I asked you nicely to pick up after your dog but you pretended you were so busy on the phone, that you had to walk the other way, back down the alley between Burlington Gardens and Alfred Road.It's really kind of you to leave those 3 big piles of dog poo on our street. You've marked your territory well.

Michelle, the only person I know with border collie in Acton owns that little shop on Churchfield rd, the one that has the weird glass ornaments in the window. Maybe bag it for him and put it through the letterbox, that will teach him to clean up after his dog, the rest of us do it, so why can't he. Then again, perhaps you should be grateful it wasn't that huge irish wolfhound I see at The Rocket

Even if you could prove it was that chap, this sounds a risky strategy...as you almost certainly can't, sounds a recipe for total disaster.Taking photos if it happens again more likel to achieve results as you can then give them to the envirocrime officer.

Next time, do what I did a few years age when faced with exactly the same problem.Follow the offender (discreetly, Columbo style), to find his home.Then go back and pick up, package, and deliver the offending faeces to the house, knock and say, "Sorry to trouble you, but I believe you dropped this earlier......."

Another thing you can do is take the poo to his doorstep pour petrol over it and set light to it when he ansers the door he will stamp on it then realise what it is. He will have a pleasent time clearing it up

I know she does, because she is a responsiable dog owner. I think her dog is great, eventhough one day I happenned to walk behind their car and he stuck his head out the window and I almost got a kiss! He's a beautiful dog though.

Hardly the dog's fault that he has to go, blame God or nature for this means of passing waste.  As you've all pointed out, the dog owner has shamefully neglected his duty and shouldn't have a pet if he can't properly care for it.  I can't help but think what I would have done in Michelle's place, have seen what happened as it happened.  I'm afraid that I would likely have run down the street after the dog owner and dragged him back to the scene of the crime (and it is a criminal offense!).  Be very glad it wasn't me that saw you, you inconsiderate person!

5 things1. I'd never seen such bad pavement poo until I moved to Acton.2. It seems particularly bad in Poet's Corner.3. Two weeks ago, I got a dog owner to retrace his steps a whole block to go and pick up the poo I saw his dog do. Seriously. 'Don't you think that's disgusting', I asked him. 'What?' he asked 'I clean it up', he explained, pulling a little bag from his hooded sweatshirt pocket. 'Then why are you showing me an empty bag?', I asked. 'Funny, the shit people come out with, isn't it?'4. I do think it's revolting people leaving their dog's mess around (and stupid, considering these people live down these roads, too) but I also wonder where they're supposed to put their poo even if they did scoop it. I mean there are bins in parks but if you're just walking around a residential neighbourhood, perhaps the Council should provide mini-dog-bins on lampposts to put poo bags in. After all, what owner is going to want to walk around for ages with a poo bag, then get home and... do what with it exactly? Do you know what I mean? There simply aren't bins down these back roads. Hayes, you have a good point there. I have walked home may times with a bag of poo in my hand to deposit in the bin at home, fortunately it is usually able to be flushed down the toilet (not the bag but it's contents). It would be helpful to have doggy bins on the streets, or are we allowed to deposit our bags in a normal street bin, always wondered about that one. Also, what if our doggies have a bad stomach and the resulting poo is not able to be picked up. My dog never had that problem, but I have seen some disgusting sights and wondered what they must be feeding their dog!
