Outsourcing

It will be interesting to see what the new government does to encourage the growth of businesses in the UK.This gives me an excuse to mention today's utterly bizarre news, about outsourcing back-office work in banks to convicts in an Indian jail.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/8677486.stm

I'm all for re-educating or re-training convicts, but this seems very odd.  Data processing?  With convicts?  Cheap labour for the companies using them, despite assurances that the convicts will get good pay.
