Does anyone know when the CPZ comes in to force in Julian Avenue?

It will be Friars Green CPZ - not yet on the Ealing website as far as I can see.

Looks like there's some delay:-This is from the consultaion document :-15. Timetable for Implementation15.1 If the Cabinet approves the recommendations of this report, the implementation may be completed by:Item DateApproval February 2010  Detailed design commencement February 2010 Works commencement on site April 2010 Works completion April 201015.2 The proposed timetable may vary subject to: • Unresolvable objections being received at the statutory consultation stage;• Issues raised by Members or the public at statutory consultation stage which may require detailed design changes;

This does seem to be a rushed timetable.  I got the impression that the previous consultation was merely to see whether people approved the principle of a CPZ.  If detailed design, which is to define where parking bays and yellow lines should actually be positioned, wasn't going to start until after approval on 23 February, what opportunity has been given for residents to comment?  I assume this is what's meant by "statutory consultation", but significantly no dates are given for that.Has the area already been laid out with road markings?  Was the detailed design posted to residents for their comments?  It doesn't appear to be on the Ealing council website.

I was speaking to someone on the council about a month ago and they said the work would begin June/July-ish

Experience in K1 was that it took some weeks to put up the zone entry/exit signs, and the kerbside signs, and paint all the lines. During that time the zone signs were covered over.Then the covers were removed, and there was a confusing couple of weeks during which the zone appeared to be active, but officially wasn't. Even the traffic wardens were confused.Finally the zone became active. It sounds as if that won't happen in Friars Green for quite a while.

In my last fortnight as a councillor, the CPZ officer contacted me to say that draft design drawings would be ready within a couple of weeks. I was arranging a site visit to Friary Rd and Horn Lane to deal with a few tricky issues. I’d guess officers will want to run the designs past the new Acton Central councillors before going through the statutory processes to create the CPZ. July or August for implementation would be my guess.

It should be the same time as the core area. Otherwise there will be an awful lot of displacement parking.

All the roads either side of Horn Lane that were consulted as part of this CPZ exercise will be included in the new CPZ (which I thinks is going to be called Friars Green, though Horn Lane would be more appropriate), and that includes Grafton and Friary Rds. The only exceptions are Acacia and Nemoure Rds, which will be incorporated into zone K1.
