It contains an article exposing the Daily Mail's claim that Labour deliberately sought to change the demographic profile of the country, through immigration, so as to advance its own electoral prospects. Right wing nutter Tony Price has been banging on about this quite a lot on the W5 forum in recent months. (Personally, I would see nothing wrong with it even if it were true).I must admit, I don't understand how someone as seemingly intelligent as Sara finds it so difficult to wean herself off the Daily Hate Mail; but I suppose that just serves to underline the power and influence of middle market tabloids.Unpleasant as it still is, that newspaper is nowhere near as bad as it once was: about twenty years ago, the Campaign for Press & Broadcasting Freedom published a pamphlet about press racism. It found the Mail to be one of the very worst offenders, especially in its systematic vilification of the Asian community.It regularly paid big fees to Ray Honeyford to write his crap, it brought apartheid mercenary Zola Budd over here, and it even ran a campaign supporting a group of bigoted white parents who had removed their kids from a school in Dewsbury (on the grounds that there were Asian pupils there).A thoroughly all-round nasty rag, best consigned to the waste paper bin.
