I think but don't know the actual numbers, that there are far more people in prison for doing some violent act while under the influence of alcohol, who don't remember anything (blackout) about what they did, or were seen to be doing.I often think that the "war against drugs" will come to nothing, those who want to use drugs, rather than legal drug alcohol will continue to take the risk of getting caught doing something which is to me a non crime, unless they are robbing and stealing etc to fund their 'habit', I often think "just legalise it" but then I wouldn't want to see young children/people becoming addicted to drugs that will ruin them forever, but the way it is going there is so much money to be made that there will always be some who are willing to sell the drugs as it is a quick way to make a lot of money, in a society where there are very few well paid jobs on offer, and where there is, the amount of applicants far outweighs the number of jobs. I am a bit skeptical about the "war on drugs" while most of the heroin (or as I have increasingly noticed on the mainstream media is called morphine or diamorphine which is Heroin)is coming from Afghanistan, so who is bringing it in? I don't think it will be the ordinary soldiers, maybe some but not enough to account for all the heroin on the streets, as I am painting myself into a corner with no answers I will leave it there for now.
