Eurovision Prediction

I havent watched the Eurovision Song Contest for many a year but yesterday saw a brief clip from the semi-finals.Its not over til the fat lady sings..and the fat lady is Hera Bjork from Iceland and her song 'Je Ne Sais Quoi'.  As Katie Boyle would have said ''Douze points'' I've never been in a betting shop in my life or gambled when in Las Vegas but just been down to PaddyPower and got 20-1 on Mount Hera to erupt and win!

I heard someone on the radio the other day saying they should use her to solve the volcanic ash problem! I shall be watching Eurovision - even though the songs are pretty terrible, but since Mr Wogan left I've watched it with the TV volume down and Ken Bruce commentating on Radio 2, not a fan of Graham Norton I'm afraid.

I like Armenia myself.  There aren't enough giant apricot stones in the world. The song is about taking something of your homeland with you, which might appeal to lots of people from turbulent countries.  Shame Netherlands didn't get through.  How can you resist a song written by Father Abraham from the Smurfs?

Did everyone vote for the only country who can still afford to stage Eurovision, maybe?Amidst all the theatrics and campery, the winner was a girl in a black dress on a bare stage, singing a song without any of the usual Eurovision hooks (don't even think there was a key change?!)
