Wild flower patch near Oaks car park

That patch of land looks really awful. Nettles seem to be taking over part of the ground and it's looking like waste ground rather than a managed wild flower area. It's a nice idea and has been more flowery in past years, what went wrong this year?Lack of management?

The park rangers have promised a strimming in the next week or so.I know the fence has been vandalised but am not sure who should do anything about it...the CCA had it erected using a grant from a developer. Tricky to know what to do next.

perhaps the 'wild flower patch' idea just doesn't work at this location - perhaps a more formal planting with a seating area would be more practical.

Maybe - why don't you negotiate with the Oaks, find the money and carry out the works - or persuade the council to do so.Good Luck!

Perhaps the businesses in Chuchfield Road would contribute a one off and then Ealing Council could then manage - something for the CAA.But.... the site behind is up for development isn't it.Who owns the land?

The Oaks shopping centre owns the land and was supposed to take over looking after it - but hasn't as you see.Businesses in CFR are feeling fragile and not all of them even run to £5 a year for the community association. I would be amazed if they felt rich enough at the moment.But do the research if you are so minded - maybe you can charm them into anything.
