A40 turn by B&Q 

For the past few days the traffic lights on the A40 by B&Q havent been working and they've closed the slip road that allows you to turn from the eastbound lane to the westbound lane.Subsequently there are jams now approaching Gypsy Corner. Anyone know why and how long this is going to go on?

The entire control box for the traffic lights was flattened by a "road traffic accident" (sorry, no further details).

Thanks Christopher. Im not surprised. A few months back a John Lewis van went over on its side at this spot and Ive seen so many near misses where crazy drivers zoom down the slip road and on just to miss sitting at the  red lights for a few minutes (narrowly missing cars turning).

The pedestrian lights immediately to the east are not always green, and I have had a near miss when walking across the crossing. The John Lewis lorry went over on the south side, the control box was on the north side. A while ago there was fire damage to the road surface just by the lights on the north side.

Just to complicate the situation, lane one eastbound was coned off earlier this evening because of a burst water main nearer to the Piccadilly line

I wasnt working tonight so thankfuklly avoided this. From what you say it may some time before things are back to normal so guess I'll come a different way from tomorrow.

I drove pass this lunchtime...cones to the left of me..cones to the right....what a mess!
