Thai Festival Ealing Common this weekend

I am just back from a lovely afternoon spent at the Thai Festival at Ealing Common.  It is on again tomorrow 11 until 6 p.m. It costs £5 to get in, children have free admission.  Lots of interesting Thai restaurants have stalls there.   I sat in on 2 cookery demonstrations and also had a Thai massage. I went this afternoon and had a good time. Bought some Thai food and treated my daughter to a massage which she really enjoyed.

yes I went with my 7 year old daughter and had a really lovely time watching the dancing and thai boxing demonstrations! And of course we ate thai food! The atmosphere was very friendly.

I walk to work across the Common every day.  I have a serious problem with these events on the Common.  An annual fair for a week and the annual two day Mela in Gunnersbury are fine, but why do they despoil the beauty of the Common and also Acton Park by holding a succesion of these events?  Could the Thai festival have been held in the town hall?  Open green space is something to treasure.
