It was pleasantly full and a notice on the window says that tomorrow is fully booked - in August yet!But they seem to have opened before they are ready.The menu is fine - mostly Italian with a bit more: quite heavy on pasta.But the gnocchi was "off" and there wasn't a lot for vegetarian daughter though the crespelli with spinach were fine - when they came not far an hour after ordering.And OK, homemade gnocchi might not be available but to have no dressing for a salad - not even oil and vinegar - both of which easily available from Londis almost opposite - did seem weird. No wine list nor any discernable knowledge of wine at all. Just a few bottles: basically white, red or pink. Apparently a greater selection - including prosecco - coming some time soon.Not enough staff either front of house or in the kitchen so service interminable.. but the lady boss - who used to run Starbucks in Ealing - says she is hiring madly.Delays apart, the crespelli was good as were the grilled vegetables... the penne with tomato sauce was al dente and fine but not gnocchi, the wine was inexpensive (justifiably)Apparently it is nut-free throughout but, though we asked, our waitress hadn't been told.Poet's Brasserie could be a useful addition to our gastronomic range but there's quite a lot to do yet. I wonder why they opened before they were ready to do so.
