An image-board to help clean up Acton?

I read an interesting article in the Guardian about local community neighbourhood websites today. One of the featured websites has a section where members can post pictures of things in their local neighbourhood that they are unhappy with (graffiti, vandalism, flytipping, abandoned and derelict buildings, flyposting etc.) I think it would be great if we could do the same on here. We could have a section on this website where we could post images, comment on any progress that has been made and then, if the council sorted out or cleaned up the problem, we could put a big green tick over the image saying 'Fixed - well done Ealing council!" or something similar. What does everyone else think?

I've tried one or two of the fix it sites and they seemd to make no difference at all - but streetwatchers really works.

The Guardian article, which you didn't link to, seems to be http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2010/jun/16/resident-local-websites-council-servicesThe sites mentioned by the article, in my judgement, are more positive and enthusiastic than actonw3.com. An excellent idea.  The posting of photographs needs to be an easy process, with follow up info.

Apologies for not linking the article. The section of the Kings Cross website that particularly interested me was the 'broken stuff on the street' section. Posts in that section may start of as 'whinges' but once photos are posted and the council is contacted the website tracks the council's actions and the site's contributors are quick to praise it if issues are resolved quickly. There is plenty of existing space on this site where good news stories could be (and sometimes are) posted - the front page being one example, but constructive criticism is necessary to make anything better, including our local community. I think the image-board idea would be positive way to do this.

When I looked at the King's Cross items, 19 of the first 20 were submitted by the same person, and 10 of them had zero comments. Nothing wrong with that, but it implies that one or two people would need to be both ultra enthusiastic, and happy to post descriptive photos of the seamy side of Acton, assuming it has one.
