Thieves

Stuart Rd, 6am yesterday 17 June: Someone pushed a long metal rod through my friend's letter box in an attempt to get hold of the keys and handbag which were in the hall. Luckily, my friend was at home and heard her keys drop on the floor. She made a lot of noise to alert them and the thieves ran away empty handed. This is just to warn you not to leave any valuables where they can be seen or reached from your letter box!!!

The exact same thing happened to one of our neighbours on Woodhurst Road a couple of weeks ago, they used a garden hoe, they managed to get a pencil case, which they obviously thought was a purse

Banham, Kensington High Street, sell an inner letter box (it fits over your letter box hole ont the inside) which will prevent this happening.  They cost about £14 if I remember correctly.  Well worth buying and fitting.

Just had an attempt this evening to stick something through the letter box for the front door keys. However impeded by the flap we have on the letter box. So do beware.

Jill at what time?Last night at about 7.3oish a man knocked my my front door, smartly dressed.  I do not open the door.

After 10.30 pm last night. I was in a room off the hall listening to loud music.  The hall light was on as was security light on path - quite cheeky. Attempt foiled by back of our letterbox.  Will be chaining the door at night from now on.
