Watersports in West London

I took the family with me to Manchester a few weeks ago while I was there on business, and found the time to take my son canoeing in the Salford Quays with the local watersports center. Amazing value, cost £3 for an hour, including all kit and wetsuit hire.My son had a fantastic time and was already begging me to take him canoeing again before we'd even got back to the dock. Wondered if anyone knew of anything similar in and around West London? Obviously not expecting such stellar value, but anything convenient would be smashing.Thanks in advance.Ian

There is a kids canoe club at Strand on the Green, based in an arch under Kew Bridge. They were on the river after school this pm. Try googleing or Hounslow Council website.

Ianif you have a car a 15 minute drive gets you to HOAC (Hillingdon Outdoor Adventure Centre), where you can canoe, sail, do rafting, high ropes, rock climbing. It's EC funded so membership is great value; you can pay daily (used to be £9 per person for the day) but is much better value if you take out an annual family membership which gives you free use of any equipment (kayaks, canoes, sailing dinghies). They do great courses (half term etc) and run saturday sailing and canoeing clubs.Here's the link http://www.hoac.net/

I think there is a kayaking club based in Acton Baths which I imagine is very convenient!
