Cuts to School rebuilding under BFS in Ealing & Hounslow & LBHF

Apart from the two labelled "for discussion" was everything axed?

Yes, less obvious in my cut n paste but the table on the BBC site shows the word 'Stopped'. Their mates in the construction business are not going to be best pleased with the tories.

I've taken the liberty of plotting (most) of them on a map - http://tinyurl.com/38jdmfcNote the big east/west divide - east London boroughs either got their act together faster or were higher priority due to poverty.  The real losers in this are therefore us, basically, mixed class areas where the schools need work but we were never high enough on the list to get through before Gove swung his axe.Still, I'm sure Toby Young and his Dunning-Kruger gang won't give a flying toss, the cheque's probably already in the post.

The map is really useful.  Perhaps locally the tory administrations were less likely to be early adopters of the BSF programme? On the other hand many of the schemes had very long development periods so it could be the previous Labour administrations in both Hounslow and Ealing to blame. I should have thought both RBKC and Wandsworth would have been on the ball but they are also badly affected.

I think it was partly luck and partly targetting schemes at schools with either low pupil achievement or high ratings on things like free school meals (the usual measure of deprivation in education).  Looking at some of the websites of east London boroughs it was pretty clear they were linking the schemes to this.Also there's an Olympic thing, one of the academies going ahead is the massive £35m one at the Olympic Village, to cater for the post-Olympics residents.I'm not sure council complexion has that much correlation - places like Islington and Southwark did OK, as did Richmond.
