The publicity has been pretty rubbish though hasn't it?Yet the date has been known for months.Hope people turn out for it.

It is an Ealing's event team and ACF event. Banners are out over various part of Acton.When the procession starts at noon, people will soon know its on. Hanwell Carnival Queen & Princess will be there for the first time will be there this year.

Let's hope that all the rubbsh is cleared up immediately after the event.I hope that the PSCO's will be on the look out for any drug dealing.

Went to the carnival today, BUT CAME BACK BECAUSE IT WAS TOO LOUD

Well I was there for a number of hours and the music was fine and the noise not too loud.  Ian you do have particularily sensitive hearing.There were staff clearing up litter during the carnival and recycling points at regular intervals.  All seemed well organised and plenty of people of all ages enjoying themselves.  A really nice fun atmosphere.

Same here Jill, I had a realy great time today, following the parade down to the park, enjoyed some Carribean food and watched local children sing and dance their socks off. Even free bottles of water to help with the heat.

The loud bass thump thump was almost as bad as ever.  A couple of phone calls from neighbours here were dealt with courteously but had no effect.  At least the sound system was at the lower end of the park which improved matters slightly.

I heard there were four stabbings yesterday in and around the carnival/park...one near the bingo...one involving the air ambulance where the prognosis was not good.Mark you that's pub gossip (there is an upside to son's job behind the bar) so it may (I hope) not be totally true.

There were both internal and "External" (independent) monitoring of the sound level. When it was too loud it was turned down.

Jim, I do hope that residents will have access to the internal and external noise level readings when they are published.Those who 'broke the rules' should not be allowed back next year.

I am not sure they will be "publish" as it is an operation issue with the event organiser. Is there a reason why you are not happy about this event?A lot of different residents were ther and "enjoyed" themselves, a bit of noise ponce a year is not going to "kill(joy)" you.

I would have liked to have stayed longer - and there must have been many people enjoying it as our tombola sold out by around 1700 I believe and we raised a record amount of money for APPLE - the art in the park - and CCA funds.

Jim, I live too far away to be troubled by the noise, but in past year's those who live nearby have had severe problems with both the level of noise and the length of time it took place, ie, long into the night time.If the Council monitored the sound levels, and I believe they were, then this information is in the public domain and will be published.
