carnival trouble?

Accident/incident on uxbridge road by the crossing  near the railway bridge at the bottom of Acton park. Lot's of police and  now the emergency helicopter .... anyone know what's happened?

What ever it is , it doesn't appear to have affected the park concert at all, might be a road accident.

Stabbing on Uxbridge Road or nearby on the high street apparently - Gloucester Road has been Police taped off, allowing access to only residents. Don'tcha just love the carnival?

" Don'tcha just love the carnival?  "Gloucester Road isn't exactly 'carnival' road, and I can still hear carnival, music and celebrations going on in the distance, as well as a few police sirens.People get stabbed between carnivals as too!

Alright Fred, back in your box!It wasn't me (or my husband who helpfully originally posted under my name) that started a thread under the title "Carnival Trouble?" anyway was it?!Just to be clear, for anyone who's interested, it looks like the incident happened on the High Street/Uxbridge Road, close to the Gala Bingo hall. Maybe, to save the carnival any unfair negative publicity, we should rename the thread "Bingo Trouble"?!

Well, at least we're having a good view of the Air Ambulance operation and how to land in Acton Park.Now the Police helicopter has joined in to provide cooling breezes on such a lovely day.Do hope that nothing too serious has happened to spoil any family's day.

I just had the police at my door asking if I had seen anything, I said I saw the helicopter and that was it. I asked him what happened and was it at the carnival, he said it wasn't to do with the carnival and wouldn't say anymore.I got the impression that they were knocking on every door.

The word at the Rocket last night was that there had been several (four) stabbings of which the one outside the Gala  bingo was the most serious necessitating the the air ambulance.I hope the rest of it is an exaggeration....I was only at the carnival to set up but it looked well organised and there was a knife detector on the way in.

But sadly a knife detector on the way in to the carnival will only prevent trouble inside....hence this stabbing happened elsewhere....yesterday was just constant sirens and helicopters (was something going on at 2am as well) and obviously I know they are possibly not all related to trouble (or the carnival, or dangerous bingo) but it's been the busiest day in Acton for a long time...

I understand the stabbing outside the Bingo Hall yesterday afternoon was a young man set upon by at least 3 others. Luckily there were lots of police about and they arrested them all at the scene. I don't know about any other stabbings.
