Sky Ride Ealing

I may be being a bit alarmist about this but Boris Johnson's event in Ealing next Sunday (18th) seems set to close the Uxbridge Road at two points and lead to the suspension of local bus services as far as I can work out.This would seem to me likely to lead to chronic gridlock in the Acton area particularly as it has been so poorly publicised. Or have I got these details wrong - it seems extraordinary that they would do this.

There's a gigantic electronic sign on the Uxbridge Road near the junction with the bottom of Horn Lane: gives the date but little other information. But I suppose if you drive along there regularly it is at least advance warning to avoid the area...

I'm not clever enough to cut and paste the map on the Ealing skyride site but it's athttp://www.goskyride.com/city/details.aspx?cityid=12It doesn't look to me as if it comes anywhere near here - very much the west of the borough - which menas a longer ride for us to get there I suppose but less disruption.it looks fun, worthwhile if it gets us off our bottoms and onto our bikes, and it is only one day of the year. I have seen a fair bit of publicity but maybe that's because I am tuned into it.There's the central London skyride too in early September - the 9th I think.
