The Alhambra, Spain - tips wanted

I'm going to be in Spain in August and am thinking of a visit to the Alhambra.  However, I've heard that it gets very hot and crowded during the day, but although it's open late at night and therefore cooler, the experience isn't as good.I AM going to pre-book at timeslot, but any tips about times to go, etc, would be welcome.

Honestly, it's amazing at any time, but certainly best without lots of people. To be honest I would go during the day and then go back in the evening to get different views. Another hint, the Parador there has a fantastic bar, and it's a great place to go and watch the sun go down with a cold Manzanilla.

The alhambra spain is the most amazing place. I am lucky as my uncle lives close by! (i'm half spanish) if you want any advice or need places to go please let me know.  Best time to visit spain is during holy week as you would be blown away by the pagents.
