Pub fire on Dukes Road

"Firefighters had been called to The Magnet Pub in on [sic] Duke's Road in Acton on Saturday morning."As far as I can see from Google Street View, there isn't a pub on Dukes Road, W3.  It's all industrial buildings.  And I can't find any reference to a pub in Acton called The Magnet either.

There is a Magnat (not Magnet) pub set back on the A40 just past the Boden store/Park Royal Station. Dukes Road is where the Charles Hurst Landrover & Jaguar car sales are......formerly H.R.Owen.

Ellie, your posting has solved the mystery!The Magnat is apparently a Polish Pub on that small road called "Hanger Green". A chap called Ewan M has posted a picture of it on Flickr.

It seems to have changed its name frequently.  Google Street View has "The Band at Rest" on some views and "The Ring Pub and Restaurant" on others.  It's notable that the same style of lettering is used for all three names, and apart from the name it all looks exactly the same.  I suppose it looks different now!

No sign of visible fire damage to the front of the building when i drove by which i thought there would have been if 75% of the first floor was destroyed, as reported.....
