I have a feeling the weather moved down from Birmingham, it was hammering it down at one point which brought a stop to the cricket - and sure enough, when it reached Acton, it knocked out our Sky signal too!

Why the hysteria? It was a heavy summer shower - typical August weather (not one of the driest months of the year). We were about to leave home for the Prom at 6 but waited for 5 minutes until the rain stopped. Got to the Albert Hall without needing to open an umbrella.Looks good for tomorrow and Monday. Max 24C. (Sorry, Becky, I know you don't regard that as 'good'.)

Not hysteria at all but the downpour was enough to feel season-changing.I'm off to Glyndebourne today and could REALLY DO with sunshine.
I have been watching Gareth and Glyndebourne. I love that young man
