Oh I enjoyed it for years - and admired some of it: it is brilliantly targeted at its core audience, it is clever in choice of features, I used to look forward to "Femail" on Tuesdays all through my teens. It has had some good reviewers and columnists - not vintage recently though. And, amazingly, it had virtually no effect on my politics - maybe taking the Guardian at the same time dealt with that. And yes it is also mean-minded, partisan, right wing and innately conservative - in that it sees progress or change as wholly alien. Plus elephantine in its ability to bear a grudge. In the end for me - decades later - the negatives overwhelmed the positives, but I quite miss the plus side.
