Summer Recess for Councillors???

Any idea where our councillors have gone? Must be on their summer holidays I presume - only I have been sending emails to the councillors in Acton Central and not a peep out of any of them!!!I have been trying to get help and advice for a neighbour (who will be homeless in October unless the problem is resolved)but so far all I have had is frustration at the lack of response and interest from our local councillors.Oh, by the way, I have also emailled the Leader of the Council - again I am sorry to say I have had no response!Before anyone thinks this is a just aimed at the Labour Party, well I emailled our MP...guess what? No reply! I then telephoned to enquire about her surgeries but a recorded message informed me that the office is closed for the summer and will only reopen on 30 August!!!The only person to actually reply to my emails is Seema Kumar who, sadly, is no longer representing this area as councillor.I am NOT impressed with this lack of response! Has anyone else had similar problems?

Has everyone gone on holiday??? I am surprised that so far not one person has commented on this subject.I did notice that we have fewer postings lately on the forum.

Perhaps they're settling in????  I've had a few responses to my emails (Daniel Crawford and Gulaid Abdullah to name them).  I usually copy Vlod Barchuk in on them as well as I know he'll advise or have an opinion and always responds.  I may be too generous of course.  Time will tell.

I think perhaps they might be awakening from a summer snooze...anyway now I have heard from no less than 4 councillors (1 ourside this area) so perhaps they will be able to give our neighbour the relevant advice and help!It was most frustrating to have no response, apart from Seema Kumar, but then Seema has always been quick to reply to emails. Sadly she is no longer one of our councillors!

Even councillors have holidays but even when I am on holiday I can get things sorted out by contacting the right officer to get problems sorted. Just takes a minute or two to check your email. Angela,Politicians don't normally credit other parties / policticians but from knowing Daniel (who is a new councillor) he is someone who seems to really care about being a councillor and doing the right thing. He might be from a different party to mine but if someone is good or does something good shouldn't we be less afraid of saying so? Whenever I meet him in the streets of Acton or after a meeting we always have a good conversation.

Yes, Daniel has been proactive in getting back to me and even introduced himself to me via email.  Councillors/Politicians don't have to agree with me to get credit but they do have to do the right thing and communication is a big part of that.  I have no complaints so far.  Just cautious of crediting them too soon.Hope all is well your end Gary.
