Loud Ringing Phone nr. Acton Town

Has anyone else heard the loud phone ringing, often late into the night, around Acton Town tube station?I've wondered if it was coming from the tube station itself (one of the platform help/information units perhaps), but having spent an entire summer a few years back battling them to lower the volume of their PA announcements, I haven't had the heart to ask any tube staff directly!  (Plus, during my announcement battle, I found the staff in the ticket hall often knew nothing about what was happening down on the platforms...)I heard the same ringing one morning as I entered the station to head to work, but again couldn't tell where it was coming from.No doubt as the weather gets cooler (boo!), my windows shall be closed and I won't hear this infernal ringing again, but it would be nice to know who's on the phone all the time!

sounds like a phone on the station - I've heard them elsewhere.  Speak to the Station Manager, this is noise pollution which something can be done about.

Makes me glad we never bought that house on the Ridgeway - it was 3 or 4 houses from Acton Town's platform.

This is a problem which occurs all over London.  It is possible, with a residents petition, to do something about it.
