North Acton Playing Fields Clubhouse?

It looks like they are tidying up the clubhouse at the east end of the North Acton Playing Fields.Does anyone know what it is to be used for?  (And if any entrepreneurs are out there is listening, I would love a cafe up 'round this way!);)

This Pavilion was "completed" approximately five years ago and has been vacant all this time. It has cost ££££££££'sThe project has had its problems, however it has just entered it's third jurisdiction during this time. (Labour - Conservative - now Labour again).The saga is a monument to incompetence on a grand scale, and should be taught in colleges on how not to do it.As far as I am aware no single Council Manager or employee has been reprimanded over this fiasco, let alone dismissed.Just another example folks of all your Council Tax money  being squandered with no basic due care & attention and no-one accepting responsibility.And so we lose yet another Summer's use.Absolutely appalling.

We were approached by Jay and his father who run the tennis club to provide Thai masseurs/masseuses from our therapy centre for the tennis players. Unfortunately on closed inspection, it just wasnt viable.Incidently I have just driven by the playing fields. What used to be a busy park now was empty. The parking bays on the North and West side have recently been designated as pay and display. People that used to drive with their children and dogs now keep away. And it was sad to see that 6 cars that had parked on the westside had yellow parking tickets on their windscreens.

I understand that the first stages of interviews with bidders who want to run certain activities from the pavilion have just taken place.  Unfortunately no information is available at the moment as to what these activities our.Some progress at last, but as Rosco says another summer with local residents being able to use this facility.I would assume that the Councillors for this area would be able to provide more information.

I remember years ago it used to be the bowling club's tea rooms and the other side the changing rooms for the footballers/ruby/cricket players!!! But that was many years ago....
