Seven Days - enchanting or irritating - or both?

I can't decide whether to take the plunge and post advice to the people featuring in Channel 4's Seven Days. It's like Big Brother in real life - insofar as Notting Hill is real life.Would like to tell the muslim law student to hang in there but not to think a degree from Brunel will make him employable and the ghastly, self-obsessed models (but i suppose that comes with the job) to get over themselves.My son thinks I may become as obsessed as them but I dunno...

Sorry but I have to stick up for myself here, though Brunel might not be the best uni by a long way it does offer most courses with considerable amounts of work experienec which, in my experience as a recent grad, means a whole lot more to employers than the fact you might have gone to ucl or durham.

It might but it is so difficult to get training contracts (solicitor)at the moment and vanishingly hard to get pupillages (barrister) that, considering this bright and rather delightful young man's lack of financial resource, he's going to have a real challenge on his hands. At one point it looks as if he realises that, but I wonder if he really does.

...it's not a patch on Paddington Green though.7 days is too long for me to wait to see the results of what I'd like to tell them! The stand-out guy is the 'plasterer-come-propertydeveloper' - I mean, what's he on!!? And who simply gifts their secretary a flat?? hmmm methinks there must be some past history there....I can't wait to see if that alleged 'interior designer' girl has an iota of interior designing skill in her - my advice to her might be to give it up.The law student - I liked his reasoning for why he studied law; I suspect there'll be a few benefits and grants to sustain him through his studies...The two models - poster girls for their generation.The two african brothers -  seem to have lost their mum recently; I liked their work ethics perspective...let's hope they keep it up and not become another statistic.

You really should - there's lots of good stuff - we just watched the BBC4 programme about the start of Coronation Street which was excellent.

Ummmm I just had a look at seven days and will not be getting into it,  I hope! The student irritated me as every other word was "like",  actually maybe I am feeling crabby as they all irritated me!  The best bit was seeing places I go to like The Windsor Castle which is not sufficent reason to watch!

I thought it was compelling, but I used to work and live in Notting Hill in the late 70s, and I just couldn't get over how it had changed.  Also, no rastas!  Surely they could have found some true Notting Hill types ???

Ben the ghastly, tattooed estate agent seems to be the latest - bet he works for Foxtons. Not that we ever see these people actually doing any work.Not sure I will last much longer - it just isn't that interesting...apart from the woman in Mike's caff taking apart the revolting models for talking trivia: thatwas a hoot!

I gave up on 7 days half way through episode one. I thought thos series was going to run and run..but what happened? Was it axed?BTW, there is a new series of CH4's The Family (with a new family) starting soon. The last 2 series (the italain family with the son getting his ears pierced and the indian family in Hounlow) were both great viewing.
