Open drug dealing - Shaa Road

When?  Tuesday lunchtime, around 1245pmWhere?  Shaa Road near the junction with Perryn Road, W3By whom?  Young black guy on silver moped, wearing a coat and a helmet selling to a slightly older white guy, probably in his early 30s.  Anyone else seen this activity?  Reported to Police.

Aaaaah so that was what was going on as I walked home from the gym, thought it was odd!  Strange location I cannot imagine many druggies on Perryn Rd and Shaa Rd where are the "clients" coming from?  East Acton?

The buyer lived in Shaa Road, if my eyes saw correctly.  He went inside one of the flats there.

The bridge over the railway line aids such illegal activities - including hasty retreats from burglaries and the fun had by those throwing things on to the railway line, etc.  What would happen if the bridge was removed? I have only used it once.    Is it necessary?

Observations of this type are much appreciated. Please dial 999 if you see drug dealing taking place. The police were contacted by email, which was sent to Acton Central Safer neighbourhood team at 2100 hours on the 13th October. The offences in Perryn Road and Shaa Road are occurring on East Acton ward. East Acton Ward received the email today. We were not on duty yesterday. Today officers have been patrolling Perry Road, Shaw Road and the footbridge. Thanks Sgt Tarrant.  I did infact email both teams in on the same email.  I will call the police next time.......but the lad sped off so quickly I'm not sure what the point was?

You may have only used it once Doris, but the bridge is very well used almost always without incident. It is mostly grafitti free (see other thread0 and is a vital short cut if you go from norht of Churchfield Road to East Acton.Please don't keep attacking it just becaue you don't happen to use it.

You can add junction of horn lane and stuart rd as well as stuart rd newburgh rd junction to the growing list. drug dealing from these locations is a 24hr operation! As a lifelong Actonian,44yrs, and knowing a great deal of what goes on. the current drug situation is OUT OF CONTROL. I do not let members of my family out alone after dark. welcome to helmand province....without the troops. whats needed is a zero tolerance policy,draconian sentencing and instant deportation with no right to return for our overseas pushers along with dependents. the whole system is weak and from my conversations these people know it.over the years ive seen some amazing families move into the area. spending large sums on properties and then some to update them. they care a great deal.this forum is witness to that.

when ? yesterday 15/10 approx 8.30pmwhere ? perryn/shaa road junction.whom ? thin tall white guy, blue hood. black guy, brown duffle coat, grey hood.walking the dog round here recently, noticed a lot of minicabs/cars stopping near the postbox on shaa and perryn road,not picking up or dropping off anyone in the early hours.

I use it a lot - mostly in daylight hours to be fair - and have never had or seen a problem.

there seems to have been much less activity this week. it may well be that the increased police patrols have done a good job at detering them. thank you to them if thats the case.the bridge maybe useful and safe during the day, i dont think anyone is suggesting that it should be closed off, but do keep your wits about you.

Sara, no I am not.  I was just asking for views on the issue as I know that the people who live adjacent to it have had problems in the past.A survey of its usage would be interesting.Also it must cost an awful lot of money in maintenance, both by Ealing Council (the pathway) and Network Rail (the bridge).  Something that no doubt both will be looking at under the present economic climate.

I'd be amazed if Network Rail ever spent anything on the maintenance - there's certainly no evidence. And it takes me two years of campaigning even to get the litter underneath cleared s i don't think it heads their expenditure plans.

I use the bridge a fair amount and often see deals happening, recently a couple of young white males doing business with a third at about 2.00pm sunday, one of them openly talking about a new delivery on his mobile, suspect it wasn't Argos he was calling.I'm surprised you haven't seen anything sara

really good news, i was wondering why and so suddenly the section of road from shaa to perryn had gone silent.one house sold for 2.2million, and yet go less than 100 meters towards the post box, and there was drug dealing. well done to the guys and gals who caught them.

Jeremy, is it known who is buying these drugs.  Are they people who live locally?    Interesting to here that the 'bridge' is being used as a meeting point.
