Underpass at Acton Central

Not sure whether regular Overground users have noticed that the underpass will be closed from Monday 25/10 until Spring 2011. That means making sure that you are the right side of the barriers to catch your train before they go down, ie. leave plenty of time to catch the Richmond train as the barriers go down at least two minutes before the train arrives.

Really? the staff there told me it was closing for about ten days to sort the damp - not till next spring which sounds excessive.

How can they possibly need to close it for this long? The staff definitely told me just ten days only a week before it actually happened.No consultation or anything. I suppose Network Rail think they can wholly disregard local residents because they can - and do.

Bizarrely it was open today and will be tomorrow according to helpful Colin on the ticket barrier - then work starts again Monday and thought the signs say closed till next May,he thought they might have a week or so's work to do.the signs thus seem very odd.
