Who does not care about the Royal engagement?

To be honest I am happy for the couple and also to the fact that hopefully we will get a public holiday to watch the wedding. It will also boyster our economy by bringing in more tourists to spend they dosh.

Can't get excited - I mean they are grown-ups, living together probably for years and years. It's not exactly romantic or a surprise is it?Would still rather have a monarch than a president but can't get worked up about this.Went on safari in Kenya with my dad to avoid the last big one - where will be wedding free this time?

I was amazed that the BBC news at 1pm ran with the story for half an hour. Royal reporter outside Buck Palace even though the Queen was in Windsor. Waffle waffle waffle about the dress etc.  It was like a French and Saunders sketch. Overkill. Too much too soon.

I think they should delay the wedding and have it as the centre piece of the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony. Lets face it, its the only way we're gonna top the Chinese one!! Just a small intimate gathering of friends and family, along with 80,000 spectators and 500 million or so world wide tv audience. Let off a few fireworks and job done!

But then it will dominate the news for even longer.If they do it next May there could be a baby to distract us from the Olympics...or Harry could get married...and then as the commentators said gleefully, there's the golden jubilee...can hardly wait...must go and research tea towels

Couldn't believe they made Huw Edwards stand outside Buck House all yesterday evening for the news bulletins. He looked even grumpier than usual.

Well, wouldn't you?Nick Witchell didn't look that chuffed either. Maybe cos he hates being royal reporter. I always think he'd be happier doing Chilcot year round!

I'm not surprised Nick Witchell hates the job after Charles was so rude to him on the ski slopes that time, pretending to think he couldn't be heard as he slagged him off.
