Lighting at The Mount

What's happened to the street/ tree lights outside Morrisons? Have the market traders sold them off?Very dark there, now the nights are longer, and I'm sure a bit intimidating if you're taking money out of the Post Office cash machines.

A few of the cherry trees are dead and were supposed to have been removed anytime now.The delay I believe was because of the paving, electrics and so on which would have to removed beforehand.I agree it is far too dark in this area, I do hope something will be done to rectify this situation ASAP!

From the latest South Acton Forum newsletter!"Acton Central and South Acton councillors are trying to sort out funding for a Christmas Market outside St Mary's Church and Morrison's but there are a number of complications this year which seem to be in the way".Does not bode well for the Mount at Christmas.

The Ward forum agreed to pay towards a Xmas market, Nancy advised on when things needed to get going and absolutely nothing was done.I'm not aware anything much is happening at all...though talk of something (dunno quite what) on December 19th.

I have previously been in contact with Richard Clews, Arboricultural Officer, Ealing. clews.r.@ealing.gov.ukThis has been a long drawn out saga with no sign of a solution.I also had a reply today from Streetwatchers with regard to the lighting and have been given a job number, so let's hope that will be sorted out soon.
