Service disruption at Acton Main Line over Christmas holiday period
Due to improvement works in the Reading area, it looks like First Great Western will be making changes to the service at AML for a time over the festive holiday period. --- SERVICES FROM PADDINGTON-GREENFORD/HEATHROW VIA AML ---The Heathrow Connect will become a stopping service at AML from 27th December to 30th December, with trains calling at AML from Paddington at :07 and :37 past each hour (leaving Paddington on the hour and half hour) This means the service in the Heathrow direction will start at AML at 05:37 and end at 23:07 each day. On December 31st, a Greenford service will run, but will call at AML from Paddington hourly at :19 past each hour (leaving Paddington at :13 past) from 07:19 until 21:19.On Saturday January 1st, the hourly Greenford service from Paddington will continue, but will leave Paddington at :10 past each hour calling at AML at :16 past, this will start from 08:10 to 21:10, though a final train of the day to Reading will leave Paddington at 22:57, calling at AML at 23:03. As usual, on Sunday 2nd January there will be no stopping services at AML. The hourly Greenford service will resume on Monday 3rd January, with trains leaving Paddington at :15 past each hour, starting at 07:15, calling at AML at :21 past until 21:21, this will be followed by two services to Twyford, departing Paddington at 22:40 and 23:48 (calling AML at 22:46 and 23:54).------------------------------------------------------------ SERVICES TO PADDINGTON VIA AML ---From 27th December to 30th December, the first train to call at AML towards Paddington will be at 06:47, this will be a half hourly Heathrow Connect service, so will call at AML at :47 and :17 past each hour until 22:17. On Friday 31st December, services from AML-Paddington will start with a train from Oxford at 06:10. This will be followed by a gap before service resumption at 08:00 with an hourly Greenford line service to Paddington which will call at AML on the hour until 22:00.On January 1st the first train calling at AML to Paddington from Greenford will be at 08:55, this will then run hourly until 21:55. As usual, on Sunday 2nd January, no services will stop at AML. Monday 3rd January sees a Reading service as the first calling train at AML towards Paddington, this will be at AML at 05:38, followed by a service from Oxford at 06:35. Greenford line services will then call at AML from 08:03 hourly until 22:03, arriving at Paddington at :12 past each hour.A full service is expected to resume on Tuesday 4th January.--------------------------------------I hope those of you who need to use AML over the Christmas/New Year period have been able to decipher the changes through this message, if not, a full set of timetable alterations can be found here:http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/Content.aspx?id=4888.It looks as though a normal service is expected to run on Christmas Eve, although some services may finish earlier than normal.
