What happened to So Asia in the High Street?

I passed by So Asia today in Acton High Street and noticed it was closed, I could not read the notice in the window from the car.Does anyone know if it has closed down or just for today?

Dunno but it was closed at 2100 this evening.

Strange. It closed last year then reopened a few months later under new management. I really thought it would be a success as it offered different asian cuisines for a set price and eat as much as you can buffet. The restaurant opposite was a noodle bar..closed...reopened as a lebanese restaurant...closed...reopened as a green restaurant..that also closed. Lazeez further down also opened to great reviews..then closed...reopened then closed again. Truth is...running a restaurant is hard work and unless supported by locals we will see more and more closing.

So Asia was good value for a takeawsy meal. I do hope it has not closed down again.

I went there on saturday night with 4 adults and 3 chidren at 7pm , we were the only people there (although a few more did come in later )- they may have a heating problem though as it was very cold which whilst the food was good did not provide much of an atmosphere. There was also only a very limited selection of beer -just bottles and no draught. My son went there on sunday evening as a birthday treat for one of his friends and it was shut then  I hope it does stay open as it is good value especially for families

theres a sign on the window saying that the premises are being refurbished..should be reopening soon (hopefully)

seems strange to close for refurb 3 weeks before xmas. this is the time when restaurants are the busiest (except for valentine's day).

Sadly I have a feeling that this might well be the end for So Asia, I do hope I am wrong.Sometimes when an establishment puts up a sign saying 'Closed for refurbishment' it remains closed.A restaurant this size should really have attracted more customers but some evenings they only had a few tables occupied, which is a shame. The overheads must be eating into their profits.The food was really good and value for money and the staff were very friendly.Oh please, not another empty shop in Acton!

Your posting at 16:19 yesterday is now blank, David. More censorship? I went to So Asia for lunch once and was disappointed by the food; nowhere near as good as at the place by the cinema in the Bush.

I wonder what it will be next..lots of changes of character, cusine and ownership in the last decade.Not a bad location though, you would think.Please, not a bingo hall/arcade/charity shop.

It would be quite a convenient place for a charity shop, from a dropping-off point of view, not far from Morrison's car park.

Given the seemingly insatiable demand for betting shops and fried chicken outlets in the High St, perhaps combining the two could be a winning innovation for this struggling prime site: London's first fried chicken bookies.

I think someome else has taken over So Asia, lights were on as we passed by, a notice in the window says it is opening soon!
