changes to your  taxicard scheme

a lot  of  sick and disabled will  have  got  letters  to  say  that their  are  big changes  to  this  service  shame  on  ealing  council a lot  of  other  london  councils  have  not  gone  this  far  TO  END DOUBLE SWIPING IS  VERY VERY  BAD,

price going  up 1.50 to 2.50 also reduction of 2.00 on total journey but  the  worst thing  is u cant swipe ur card  more  than once

JonYou might have a word with your Councillor in the Ward where you live. You could then explain why this is a new problem and see whether that is unfair on disabled people.I don't understand the technicalities, but you obviously need some clarification and possibly, just possibly your Councillor may help.

There was no consultation on this as far as I know. Surely this move is going to penalise those who need the service most?This probably means that the taxicard service will only be for very short journeys from the disabled person's address -I wonder how they would expect a person with a disability to make a longer journey?

yes  jean thank  you so  underhand  all  this  no  one  has  got  back  to  me  about  this  from  the council hope the  editor might  put it on  front  page  a lot  of  disabled people do  not  know  about  it

Jon,I just looked at the Taxi Card Website and if you scroll down the page there is more information under the 'News' section which might be of some help.Another thing, how about contacting the Minister for Transport? In the meantime I hope you hear from your Councillor. Unfortunately some are quicker than others to reply to residents queries.Good luck!
